DECOR...| a contemporary sanctuary - bathroom

Constant rush, traffic jams and crowded streets - it's hard to find some privacy nowadays. Bathroom is one of those places where you can really be alone and rest after a long day. I think that all of you will agree that the bathroom is a contemporary sanctuary. So, what should we do to create stress-free bathroom ?

1. Follow the same shapes. If you were inspired by a square basin or toilet pan, try to combine them with square tapware and other accessories in that shape. If you decide on soft, round lines, don't introduce sharp lines because it will disrupt the harmony.

2. Finish of tapware, toilet roll, towel rails plays an important role. Choose shiny or matt finish but don't mix them.

3. When you are choosing a basin, toilet and bathtub from different companies, pay attention to material and shades of white colour. Very often white in not equal to white ( some companies use  white that  has more blue hues and other has more yellow tones ).

Duravit ceramics - I have their products at home and I can highly recommend this brand.
Kohler is another brand of ceramics that I really recommend.

4. By picking matching elements, you stay on the safe side. But don't be afraid to introduce a WOW effect into your bathroom. The rule here is - most elements should fit together but one or two contrasting pieces will create style.

5. Be careful with trends because fashion changes at the speed of light. Choose trends that appeal to you. Remember that renovation of bathroom is expensive and can be really messy. So think twice :) before you choose bathroom design.

6. Bright light is a must-have in the bathroom because it allows you to put on make-up or shave without problems. I recommend here a lightening at the eye level on either sides of the mirror. Dim light creates a quiet environment and calm your mind during a long soak in the bath or a hot shower. Moreover, soft lights will allow your eyes to adjust to brightness in the morning without shock.
For spa atmosphere add candles and tealights.

7. Opt for natural materials like wood or stone. Thanks to contemporary technology wood is resistant to water and doesn't absorb moisture. The most popular stones are: Granite - the strongest, most durable stone, practically it does not require impregnation. Travertine - highly porous, very sensitive to moisture, so avoid using it in places with high moisture. Marble - it has a great selection of colors and structures, it fits any interior and it is very effective on large surface. Onyx - unusual, irregular in color, it looks excellent in the mosaic on the wall. It does not occur in large formats.

8. The cabinets and storage will help you avoid mess. It's the best way to hide small items like : toothbrushes, toothpaste, cosmetics and make-up tools.

Remember about a flower accent. Some fresh flower will add an air of elegance and beautiful  scent to your bathroom.
I hope my tips will be helpful for  you !
